Arm Balances Are Fun!

Thursday November 30, 2006
While taking a yoga class this week, I was reminded how much fun I have doing arm balances. There are probably other ways to go about it, but I found that once I was able to do Crow Pose, many other arm balances quickly fell into place. I think Crow is the key because it gives you a sense of balance and how to control your body in space that can be used in other arm balances. When I am learning a pose like this, I absolutely have to practice it at home every day until I get it, because even if you are taking a lot of classes, they won't always teach this pose. You will also be less afraid to look silly and fall when you are home alone, and that can be all you need. My Crow tips are to squeeze your upper arms with your knees like crazy and keep your head up.
