Boat Pose - Navasana is the Yoga Pose of the Week

My new found interest in Ashtanga Yoga means that I've been doing a lot of Boat Poses, since the Primary Series includes a number of variations on this theme, including the following gut buster:
  • Come into Boat Pose. Hold five breaths.
  • Release, place the palms flat on either side on your hips, cross your ankles and lift yourself off the ground for one breath (a version of Lolasana).
  • Repeat five times.
  • Oof.
  • (Be sure to check out Half Boat Pose by clicking on the photo on the article page if Full Boat seems like too much).
