Yoga Benefits Breast Cancer Patients

Wednesday October 24, 2007
According to a recent study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology (and as reported here by Reuters), attending specially designed hatha yoga classes was shown to improve the stress levels and sense of well-being of breast cancer patients. It's good to see yoga's benefits validated by the health-care establishment because it encourages people who might never have considered doing yoga to try it. And even though Breast Cancer Awareness month is almost over, you can still get a pink Yogitoes Skidless.

There is a fantastic video called “Focus on Healing” (www.enhancementinc.com) that was produced by a professional dancer to help her mother and later herself to deal with the effects of breast cancer surgery and prevent lymphedema.

The video is distributed by yoga master Shoosh Crotzer through Enhancement Inc, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for women during and after breast cancer. “Focus on Healing” is used by 350 hospitals an has sold over 12,500 copies.

Hope this helps!
