Dolphin Is the Yoga Pose of the Week

Dolphin pose (sometimes also called puppy pose), is a version of downward facing dog done with the forearms on the floor. (This photo shows a down dog split in dolphin, which is a variation on the pose). Dolphin is a great option for yogis with wrist problems, because it allows you to do this essential yoga pose without putting any pressure on the wrists.

To build arm strength, try coming from a classic down dog to dolphin and back a few times. Move slowly, lowering the forearms simultaneously to the floor, taking a few breaths, and then restraightening them with control.
