Yoga on Your Vacation
Wednesday July 9, 2008
If the number of "out of office" email replies I have been getting in any indication, a lot of people are on vacation this month. As you plan your trip, think about how you'll be able to keep up with your practice while you're traveling. One of my favorites is to track down a local yoga studio at your destination, because it's always interesting to see a new teacher or style. If this won't fit your schedule, you can plan on doing some stretching on your own instead. Happy trails!

Thank you SOOO much for addressing this! I’ve recently started doing yoga and think I may be totally addicted because I’ve started to stress about my upcoming yoga-free vacation. There are no yoga studios where I’m going, so I’m so grateful for your list of resources, especially yogadownloads.
I saw your advice about getting a travel yoga mat. Do you think that is really needed? I was thinking of managing with a towel and a hardwood floor. Do you think that will work?
Thanks!
I should clarify: I would use the hardwood floor for the standing poses, and the towel for sitting/lying down.
thanks.
Hi Susie,
You can certainly get by without a travel mat. I like to have a mat, but I usually just fold up a standard one and put it in my suitcase unless I am trying to travel lightly.
Have a great trip!
Ann
Thanks so much. This site has so many great resources, I’m so glad I found it!
