Reverse Warrior Is the Yoga Pose of the Week
Sunday July 20, 2008
In reverse warrior, there's a tendency to get all caught up in deepening the backbend, trying to inch your fingers further and further down the back leg. But this is only part of the pose: keeping the front knee nice and deep is just as important, so make sure you're not sacrificing that alignment for your fancy backbend.

You have a new photo! I like this one much better…it’s a lot more flattering.
Thanks! I agree.

Which way is the body facing in this pose? Lately I have been trying to face more forward, as if I’m reversing Warrior I, but I’m wondering if I should be turning my ribcage more to the side of the arm that’s on my leg.
Second the comment on your new photo.
I’ve actually seen this pose taught both ways (warrior I torso postion and warrior II torso position). Though the warrior II positon is more common, you can do the warrior I position too.
And second the thanks!
