Eagle Pose - Garudasana Is the Yoga Pose of the Week

Sunday August 31, 2008
There's a lot of twisted limbs going on in eagle pose, but that actually helps give the pose some stability. Once you are able to comfortably wrap the legs, the balance becomes a lot easier. It's kind of like giving your tree a bigger trunk - it wavers less in the breeze.

Though i take Garudasana almost every day, it is the one pose that creates the most drama for me. Im not the biggest fan of it yet, especially ‘flying in’ from high lunge.
The challenge isn’t really physical so much as it is emotional.
It’s good stuff all of it, but still, it’s the one pose that im not friends with.

What do you think that yoga is confined to these physical exercises? This is absolutely wrong. Believe me . we don’t know with what frequency, rhythm and of course intensity we should do it. Every body needs it in different way. And the right method is siddha yoga. This method does automatic movement. We have to do nothing. Just concentrate this picture in between your eyes. Close your eyes and concentrate. If you feel anything reply me.he is gurudev shri ramlal ji siyag.

Nathan, I felt this way for the longest time. I felt like the pose was taunting me somehow, that it was a deliberate test of my balance and strength. As I got further on my emotional journey into yoga, and stopped worrying so much about whether my poses looked good, eagle got easier…now it’s one of the ones that I feel most comfortable in.
