Get Restored

Tuesday November 11, 2008
Lately, I've taken a couple of classes that focused on restorative yoga. In this teaching method, poses are help for long periods, perhaps up to 10 minutes, with the use of props to support the body as it opens. Though I wasn't looking for a restorative experience when I walked into class, when I was able to let my expectations go and relax into the poses as instructed, I ended up feeling stretched, open, and renewed by the time class was over. This is a good time of year to try a more passive, rejuvenating type of practice as the manic holiday season approaches.
