Squeeze in Some Yoga

Wednesday December 3, 2008
Do you feel like your day needs 25 (or more) hours in order for you to get it all done? In balancing the demands of work, family, and friends, often it's the "me time" that falls by the wayside. But allowing your exercise regime to suffer isn't good for your physical or mental health (hello, stress). Here are a few ways to make sure you can fit yoga into your day.
  • Have Yoga for Breakfast: Some days you just can't find time for 90 minutes of yoga, but most days you can probably find ten. Stretching your hips and hamstrings before heading out the door will really improve your day and help carry you over to the next long yoga session. So set your alarm a little earlier, skip that extra cup of coffee, and get on your mat.
  • Have Yoga for Lunch: Many studios also offer quick one-hour classes at lunch time. This dose of power yoga will makre your afternoon more productive too.
  • Yoga Instead of Traffic: Why sit in traffic when you could be doing yoga? Find a studio that is close to your office. Take a class right after work and by the time you get out, rush hour will be over.
