Newsflash: Yoga Teachers Work Hard

Thursday December 4, 2008

A Drop in Pay, but a Leap in Karma focuses on those who have left lucrative careers to become fitness instructors and find themselves happier but poorer. Something to consider before you exchange your business suit for a pair of yoga pants.

this article couldn’t be more on point. I’m a recovering corporate-type turned yoga teacher. Much less money, much more rewarding! Florian Yoga Blog

This weekend I was advising a studio that is struggling. I have known them for awhile. Marketing has been their challenge. Basically I told the manager “The teachers tend to show up and expect the students to be there. They need to understand that marketing to individuals is very important.” So now the teachers will be handing out the free yoga class cards that have been sitting around for about a year to everyone they meet.
