Top Yoga Tops

Tuesday October 27, 2009

My abiding interest in yoga pants is well documented, but I can't seem to get as excited about yoga tops. They all seem too strappy, too skimpy, and not supportive enough. I don't like spaghetti straps, racers backs, or uniboobs. Am I missing something here? If you've found a truly awesome yoga top, won't you share with us by leaving a comment?

“uniboobs”? LOL! You must be referring to my personal favorite, the sports bra. I like them because they don’t have straps that fall down (hate that!), no underwires, etc., and they don’t bind or constrict my movement. Of course, my boobs are practically non-existant, so that might be a problem for women who actually have anything resembling cleavage.

Here’s mine: the Misty Jog Bra from a designer called Splits59. From the front it looks like a strappy bra, but from the back it’s a racerback, so the support is just right. Plus it’s so darn cute. I have a pair of the foldover pants too. I guess it’s not strictly a yoga bra, but it totally works. I don’t like low-cut bras, cause I get nervous about “wardrobe malfunctions” when I’m in an inverted pose.
