Sirsasana!!! Headstand.
Why I Love It
It is a pose that is described as literally turning your world upside down and I believe that is why it helps me to find peace and balance more than any other asana.
As B.K.S. Iyengar says in his section on Sirsasana in Light on Yoga (Schocken, 1995), "The best way to overcome fear is to face with equanimity the situation of which one is afraid." Fortunately, disorientation in Headstand subsides fairly quickly. With regular practice, you can begin to experience the benefits which led the yogis to call Sirsasana the "King of Asanas."
Advice
- Learn the fundamentals first, then let go and trust in your body. Once you let go, only then can the mind, body, and soul come together.
