A post on FitSugar about Yoga Assists Gone Wrong reminded me of our recent discussion on preferences about adjustments. When I was training to become a yoga teacher, my teacher very carefully went around her class with me and observed me giving adjustments and gave me pointers. The students were very understanding, and this helped to make me and the students comfortable with my adjustments. And for any of you planning on becoming teachers, practice giving adjustments on your friends. They will honestly tell you what feels good.

A “must have” book that instructs hands-on yoga teacher adjustmnts in depth with photos & biomechanical charts (and teh book even comes complete with a DVD demonstarting the adjustments)is available on amazon -it’s published by Human Kinetics and authored by reknown KathyLee Kappmeier, BSPT, HHP E-RYT with Diane Ambrosini, MA.
