Goddess Pose - Supta Baddha Konasana Is the Yoga Pose of the Week

Sunday October 19, 2008
I've recently been enjoying a prop-heavy version of goddess pose. You will need a bolster, a block and a blanket for this one. First, set the block to stand at its highest height. Then position the bolster to lean on the block at an angle so that the block hits the bolster about two-thirds of the way from the bottom of the bolster. Unfold your blanket and roll it into a long sausage. Come into the pose with your back going up the bolster and your butt on the floor. Drape the blanket roll over your feet and then bring the ends around under your bent knees to your hips so that your knees are supported. If you have an eye pillow, grab that and relax for as long as your like. It's a great supported, restorative position.

This is one of my favorite poses, it is so much of an offering and really helps to open the hips and heart. Thank you for posting such a beautiful pose.
