Warrior III - Virabhadrasana III Is the Yoga Pose of the Week
Sunday December 28, 2008
The trickiest part about warrior III is the position of the hips. They both should be pointing straight down toward the floor, but often the hip on the side with the lifted leg wants to creep upwards. A good way to sense this is to do the pose with your hands on your hips so you can feel their exact position more easily. To really feel the burn in your legs, try this pose as part of a standing balances sequence.

I love this pose. Particularly this variation of the arms – with the arms over my head I’m straining, but with arms down near my sides I feel like Superman.
