Warrior I - Virabhadrasana I is the Yoga Pose of the Week

If you take yoga classes regularly, you probably do warrior I all the time. It's a standard part of any series of standing poses. There are many ways to teach warrior I, but to me the key to this pose is the position of the hips and the shoulders. Both are aligned squarely to the front. Keeping the hips pointing forward as your back leg stretches to the back of the mat and your front thigh edges toward parallel is the big challenge in this posture.
