I have to admit that I'd never seen a Jane Fonda exercise video before firing up her latest offering, AM/PM Yoga for Beginners, but I like her style here. Her figure is still amazingly trim and she's not afraid to rock a hot pink sweat band. There probably won't be too much sweating going on, however, because the exercises are pretty gentle, which is perfectly appropriate for her target audience of older ladies. Using props like chairs, Fonda leads a group through five different short (10-12 minutes) workouts. If you are (or know) a senior who has been wanting to try yoga, this is a good way to get started.

I strongly disagree. Folks in my age group – I used to do those Jane Fonda tapes when my son was a baby – absolutely need to sweat and do cardio. It lifts moods, centers one’s spirit, and keeps minor aches and pains away. It improves cardiovascular health, makes for strong bones, and clears the mind. I sure hope your older readers don’t think you’re giving them a pass on sweating and doing cardio or aerobics.
