Definition: A breathing technique that can be used while in labor to manage pain by focusing attention on the present moment. The technique is simple: Take deep inhale through nose and exhale through the mouth. It's useful to practice this so that you don't forget what to do when you are finally in labor. This breath is often taught in prenatal yoga classes.
Examples: During contractions, use the birthing breath to help manage your pain.
